At Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), the International Policing and Public Protection Research Institute (IPPPRI) and the Centre of Excellence for Equity in Uniformed Public Services (CEEUPS) lead pioneering research in public safety and equity. IPPPRI focuses on sexual offending, modern policing, and counter-terrorism, working closely with agencies to develop evidence-based strategies that enhance public protection. Our work includes national evaluations and partnerships with police forces to address complex societal challenges. CEEUPS promotes equity and wellbeing across uniformed services through trauma-informed, inclusive research. Projects explore emotional labour in prisons, psychological safety in emergency services, and systemic responses to domestic abuse and child exploitation. Together, our institutes drive transformational change, translating research into impactful policy and practice.
