TecSAFE is a bespoke technology solution that enables effective police response across the UK in support of vulnerable people, including victims of domestic abuse, stalking, harassment and other crimes related to violence against women and girls.

TecSAFE gives vulnerable people quick and direct access to police through an enhanced emergency protocol. Upon activation of the service, real-time tracking and intelligence become immediately available in all police control rooms where TecSAFE is live. This supports policing to provide a consistent response and improves the safeguarding of vulnerable people across the UK. The solution is currently live in 37 police forces with more at varying stages of implementation.

Available in 43 languages, TecSAFE has helped over 32,000 vulnerable people in the last 13 years, giving them the confidence and support to get their lives back after abuse.

TecSAFE is powered by the Police Digital Service and officially supported by the Home Office.

About the Police Digital Service

The Police Digital Service (PDS) is the UK organisation responsible for coordinating, developing, delivering, and managing digital services and solutions that enable UK policing to safely harness technology and improve public safety.

Established in 2015 (as the Police ICT Company) and rebranded in 2021, the PDS is a private non-profit company funded by policing and the Home Office. The company works with law enforcement organisations, private industry, charities, public bodies, and government to deliver digital services and solutions for policing.

The PDS is the main delivery arm of the National Policing Digital Strategy (2025–2030), jointly owned by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) and the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC). The focus of the strategy is based on policing’s ambition to embrace digital capability to improve public safety. It also aims to achieve the Policing Vision 2030 by having the most trusted and engaged policing service in the world, working together to make communities safer and stronger.

The PDS is driving digital transformation with UK policing:

  • We discover, build, run, and renew digital, data, and technology solutions and services for UK forces.
  • We enhance the cybersecurity posture of policing.
  • We provide expert advice, strategy development, and innovation services.

The PDS employs more than 300 people who are dedicated to serving policing with the highest standards of excellence and integrity by driving innovation, responding to evolving needs, and building strong relationships across the law enforcement landscape. Everything we do involves our customers, working with and for policing to create a safer and more secure UK.
