Kulpa is a certificated SaaS platform which enables users to upload evidence to a secure cloud (the kulpa cloud). The public kulpa app is free and available for anyone to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or it can be accessed via any web browser.
The app can accept any file any size; photos, videos, audio files, text messages, social media screenshots, whatsapp exports, CCTV, doorbell footage, documents, etc.
For users, storing evidence on kulpa ensures it is safe and secure and can be used in any legal process, if and when required. With kulpa’s file validations, it’s unique ability to capture the metadata (time, date, location information, etc) and given its certifications, evidence stored and then shared via kulpa constitutes authenticated, verified, digital forensic evidence.
People may need to store evidence for a huge number of reasons. Some may need to use it in a civil legal process (divorce, neighbourly dispute, restraining order) whilst others may want or need the offending party to be prosecuted for their actions in the criminal courts (if an offence such as Anti-Social Behaviour, Stalking, Harassment, Abuse or Assault has occurred).
Once a user has stored evidence in their kulpa cloud, they can always share it with anyone they choose, but kulpa also aims to help users to get the right support and response by connecting the app, directly with key stakeholders including government agencies. Those agencies include the police, local councils, and other public bodies.
If an organization has a kulpa connection, they will appear in the ‘share with’ list, if the user and/or the incident location is within their jurisdiction.

For stakeholders, the ‘kulpa connection’ is obtained by procuring a license and onboarding to the kulpa Gov Platform. The SaaS license is a fixed annual license fee, the cost of which is based on the size of the organization.
As well as optimizing the data transfer process, the kulpa Gov platfrom is spercifically designed to improve the organizations response, and make processes more effective and more efficient. Essentially improving the organisations outcomes using fewer resources.
The Gov platform specifically designed for Policing is the kulpa Police Platform (police.kulpacloud.com)
The Police Platform enables police to quickly and easily review the evidence that has been shared with them. It also enables them to download the evidence file in a format which is fully compliant with the Criminal Procedure Rules, complete with a signed MG11 Statement, and critically, each item of evidence is supported by its metadata (the time, date, creation information that verifies its authenticity).
The added benefit for both users and policing, is that policing will no longer need to seize and download victims and witnesses, mobile phones or computers. Instead, they will already have the verified digital forensic evidence they need, in an immediately usable format.
In summary, kulpa empowers victims to provide the police with immediately usable digital forensic evidence, in significant quantities, without the need to have to seize or download their device. It protects and respects victims and enables suspect-focused investigations.
For a police force, a subscription to the kulpa Police Platform is proven to save the investigating officer seven and a half hours on the most basic of cases and kulpa’s use is also proven to save the police force money, by reducing DFU demand, reducing excess data storage costs and reducing the amount of resources required to properly investigate a crime and achieve an outcome.
Given its certifications and CPR compliant evidential outputs, kulpa’s use is supported by the Crown Prosecution Service at a National Level. It is also supported and endorsed by a number of victim support services.
Outcomes have already improved in forces with a kulpa police system subscription.
