Vice President Sara Crane will give an introductory presentation on Wellbeing in Focus: Insights from members/superintendents.
The panel will then explore the evolving role of wellbeing within the context of police reform, with a focus on how forces can move from reactive support to a preventative, proactive approach that is embedded in leadership and strategy.
Key themes will include:
• The case for positioning wellbeing as a strategic priority in force leadership and operational delivery.
• How policing can transition from a response-based model to one that prioritises prevention and early intervention.
• The importance of inclusive, evidence-based practices that enhance resilience, performance, and psychological safety across all ranks.
• The argument that Chief Officers should lead with wellbeing at the heart of organisational strategy, ensuring it is not a peripheral concern but a core enabler of effective, ethical, and sustainable policing.
This discussion will bring together diverse perspectives to identify what is working well, where the gaps remain, and what systemic changes are needed to support the workforce of the future.
