Alex was appointed Temporary Chief Constable in September 2024, became NPCC Lead for Police Vetting in October 2024 and was confirmed as Chief Constable of Warwickshire Police in December 2024.
With more than 20 years experience, Alex began his policing career in Surrey before joining Warwickshire in 2007.
Selected as part of the National High Potential Development Scheme, he undertook a variety of uniform and detective roles in policing - reaching the role of Deputy Chief Constable in 2022.
During his career, he's spent time at the National Crime Agency (NCA) and has extensive experience as a strategic firearms and public order commander. He has led national programmes of work, enabling the UK's first national tasking and coordination arrangements for law enforcement and is also the National Policing Lead for Burglary.
Alex holds postgraduate qualifications in Leadership and Management.
Outside policing, he enjoys running, spending time with his family, and for his sins, is a supporter of Southampton Football Club!
