This session will explore the history of Police Vetting, including the evidence base for change. It will discuss the impact of the Casey Review, The HMICFRS thematic and integrity inspections, the Angiolini Inquiry and the new Vetting Regulations on police vetting policy and practice, and how vetting needs to reform in order to meet modern day risks, threats, public expectation and societal change; with a focus on public safety and holistic risk management.
